Good Bye, Rosie

Yesterday, our dear milk cow Rosie died from calving complications. The calf came out (on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009) with 1 hoof showing and his other hoof stuck- it had to be pulled out so that she could make progress. Apparently, we waited too long to pull the hoof out because every contraction, she kept pushing the stuck hoof into her spine, thus giving her calving paralysis. Most cows recover, and we did our best to make sure she was one that did. But after doing all we were supposed to, she just couldn't make it. Through it all, though, God blessed us with a new little bull calf whom we named Chuck- Eye. We call him Chucky for short. :) We are very thankful that God allowed us to take care of her this past year and a half and for all of the times she made us laugh.

I am so sorry about Rosie! I know it was the Lord's plan, but I know it was still hard to lose a loved pet.
