Gator McNugguts

From this

To this!

The Eddins family gave us some alligator leg meat and we were able to cook it this evening. Just a brief scoop on gator meat- The tail is the "prime" meat. Gator smells like fish, but has a chicken flavor.

Here's how I cooked it:
1st~ I cut it up into bite-size pieces
2nd~Dipped it into beaten eggs seasoned w/ salt and pepper
3rd~ Coated it with a mixture of flour, salt, pepper, & Cajun seasoning
4th~ Fried it in oil heated up to 350 degrees f

We liked it with ketchup and cocktail sauce, but it's supposed to be good with a variety of Cajun dipping sauces.

Have a good night!
Em

  1. Hello Pendleton Family!

We just rediscovered your blog. :) Hope that everything is going well in Alabama! It's been a long time since we've had the chance to visit with y'all.

Congratulations to Jacob and Tina. Praise the Lord for his goodness!

P.S. That was one whopper gator! I don't believe I've ever seen one quite that large. :)
